Die erste CO2 freie Stadt entsteht 30 Kilometer westlich von Abu Dhabi. Eine Stadt ohne Autos und ohne Müll. In diesere Stadt werden vorraussichtlich ab 2016 50.000 Menschen wohnen und arbeiten. Masdar City wird sich selbst durch erneuerbare Energien versorgen können. Es wird elektriche Kabinenbahnen geben und natürlich wird das Fahrrad ein Hauptfortbewegungsmittel sein.
